The week in craft beer

From September 21 through 27, 2026, a new New York taproom opened, a Pennsylvania brewery found an unusual second pouring spot, and several breweries announced changes or closures. Openings and expansions

Wolf Hollow opens a Scotia brewery and taproom

Scotia, New York. Wolf Hollow Brewing Company opened the doors at 154 Sacandaga Road on Thursday, September 24, with a four-day opening weekend. The company calls the space a new taproom and brewery; its original West Glenville location remains open. That gives Capital Region drinkers another place to try Wolf Hollow's beer without making the trip to its first location. Stick City starts pouring at a fly-fishing shop

Mount Holly Springs, Pennsylvania. Stick City Beer teamed with Precision Fly Fishing to put a taproom inside the shop. The brewery celebrated the new space on Saturday, September 26, during Precision's fly-fishing festival, with draft beer and cans to go. The pairing offers another place to find Stick City beyond its Mars brewery and connects its beer to the outdoor community it has long embraced. Breweries in PA reported the partnership and opening details. Festival hours were opening-event hours, not a confirmed standing taproom schedule.

Closings and changes

Oakshire announces the end of its brewery and taprooms

Eugene, Springfield, and Portland, Oregon. On Friday, September 25, Oakshire Brewing announced that it could not keep operating the business as a whole. Its Springfield Commons served its last customers on Sunday, September 27. The Portland Beer Hall is scheduled to close after service on Wednesday, September 30. Oakshire had not set a final date for its Eugene Public House when the announcement was reported; it said it would still hold its October 3 anniversary gathering and package beer already in its tanks. This is a loss for three Oregon beer communities, but the venues have different final dates. Reports from The Oregonian/OregonLive and KVAL quote and corroborate Oakshire's announcement.

Ten7 plans to close, but the North Wales taproom remains open

North Wales, Pennsylvania. Ten7 Brewing Company announced on September 22 that it plans to retire after eight years of serving customers. It did not say it was shutting immediately: the owners expect to keep the taproom open for the next few months, and no final service date has been announced. For regulars, the news is a chance to visit and support the staff while the doors remain open, rather than an announcement that the brewery is already gone. Voodoo Brewing Scranton sets its last day

Scranton, Pennsylvania. The locally owned Voodoo Brewing pub announced on September 25 that it will close after service on Wednesday, September 30. The Scranton team says gift cards for that location cannot be redeemed at other Voodoo pubs, so holders should check their cards before the final service. This is the closing of the Scranton location, not a notice that every Voodoo location is shutting down. Breweries in PA reproduced the location's announcement and explained its local ownership.

Business and production

Sun King shifts Florida production and plans a Siesta Key taproom

Sarasota, Bradenton, and Siesta Key, Florida. In a September 23 statement, Sun King Brewery said it will move Florida brewing from its Sarasota facility to independent partner Sun Lab Brewing in Bradenton beginning in October. Its Sarasota space is planned to become The Brewer's Collaborative Tap House, operated by its longtime food partner, while Sun King plans a new taproom at Captain Curt's Village on Siesta Key later this fall. The change affects where the beer is made and where visitors will find a Sun King-run taproom, but it is not an announced exit from Florida.
